Photo storage

To day I was invited to a conference with directors of Photomax. Which is a photo storing company.

Unlike most of the other photo storage companies Photomax offers some great technologies that allow you to get your old photos turned into digital, vhs videos turned into digital movies etc...

They are also at the front line when it comes to mobile phone cameras, or images anyway. With a system that will allow you to send you photos from your phone to your online storage space.

The idea with me being there was to help spread the word, and get me to sign up as a distributor. A friend of mine Ailsa Price was the one that invited me along which I am very grateful for.

One thing that stuck out in my mind was how there was an emphasis on change with technology and also more importantly how many large companies forgot to look in to the future.

Then I got to thinking has Photomax although a great product thought about what will happen if or should I say when, in the near future move to online operating systems. There is a rumor that Google is buying up companies that offer online applications like word processors etc... More importantly they have a photo storeage company called Picasa. Which the way I see it would be in direct compotition with Photomax but with a great advantage that people are using the Google Operating System, what ever it may be called.

Now I am guessing that the people at Photomax must have already thought of this, or maybe since it is such a simple thought someone has overlooked it.

That is something to watch over the next few years.
