Google Page Creator

I'm a tab late on blogging on this subject but here are my thoughts on the matter.

Google Page Creator (what?) This is another application which google has brought out, I recently posted a section on my personal blog iBlab about Google looking at creating their own online operating system. Read it here.

As a web developer or owner of a web devlopment company or as I like to call it "Online Solutions company" I am always looking at the changing industry in which I work.

With this latest creation which is obviously a free to use low cost solution people to develop their own webpages. I am assuming that Googles target market with this application is for personal use.

The reports that I am reading about is that the codeing which is created by the wysiwyg editor is relatively clean apart from a few things such as
not
to work with xhtml standards. Most of the css seems to be clean apart from the huge amount of hacks which are used.

I spose according to web standards it would still be classed as what I like to call "dirty code".

What would be the impact if companies started to use this type of thing for their own websites? I know in Australia there is a company called Site Now which offers a template based design with cms that the user can brand by them selves.

Is this something that business will steer clear of if the saying is true "you learn from your mistakes" do you think people have learned from the FrontPage websites of the 90's?

Somehow I think not... So who what will the internet through at us next?? Could it be a google revolution which will take the internet by storm. Well I can't see into the future but I am hopeing that this doesn't happen.

By the way, I leave for Sydney tomorrow morning so posts will become shorter and not a frequent until I get back.
